Being Great

Being great sometimes goes unnoticed. Sometimes people feel the effect of your greatness, but not necessarily recognize that your greatness is what’s making things operate smoothly.
When you are on the job, and you are trained and assigned to do that particular job, your goal should be to perfect the craft. You should want to take that task and do it better than anyone has ever done it. You should want to make a mark on that particular task as, “this job was done in greatness because I did it.”.
How you perform your daily task should never be done with the expectation of anyone giving accolades or recognition of how it’s performed. You should do it as well as you do because, you are indeed great. Your greatness is part of who you are and it should show in everything that you do.
Being self motivated is a skill within itself. Wanting to be the best at what I do comes with no rewards most of the time. Self motivation is defined as “motivated to do or achieve something because of one’s own enthusiasm or interest, without needing pressure from others” *google search/dictionary* Meaning, being able to accomplish certain goals or tasks that are inspired by oneself, without expecting any type or rewards in return. The reward is when you aim for a self-set goal and achieve it.
Greatness is not what I do, but rather who I am. The benefits are that it can be shared with others. Whether I cook and clean for my family, or do an excellent job for an employer, the benefits of my greatness is felt by people I encounter with.
